The STMicroelectronics 8-pin STM32 microcontroller (MCU) is now available in a compact, economical package that allows simple embedded development projects to take advantage of the performance and flexibility of a 32-bit MCU.
The four new STM32G0 microcontrollers are the perfect combination of 8-pin economy and 32-bit performance, which is unique in the market, based on 59 DMIPS 64MHzArm®Cortex®-M0 + cpus, up to 8KB of on-chip RAM and 32KB of flash memory. High-performance peripherals include a 2.5Msps ADC, high-resolution timer, and a high-speed SPI interface. Flexible I/O pin mapping and MCU internals make it easy for designers to upgrade end-product functionality without sacrificing board space or bill of material costs. Highly stable internal oscillator with ± 1% accuracy over a wide temperature and pressure range, saving developers external clock components.
Market expectations such as battery capacity limits, eco-design rules or appliance efficiency ratings drive energy-sensitive applications. Thanks to the tried-and proven low-power design features of the STM32 MCU family, the 8-pin STM32G0 microcontroller will gradually prevail in energy-sensitive applications.
The new MCU inherits the full functionality of the STM32G0 family with up to 100 pins, up to 512KB of flash memory, and additional high-performance analog peripherals and security protection features to help developers simplify future product upgrades and feature expansions.
The new 8-pin STM32G0 MCU is available now in a 6mm x 4.9mm SO8N package, and the 8-pin discovery suite STM32G0316-DISCO features fast, economical evaluation capabilities that reduce development effort.
The three MCUS in the STM32G031J6, STM32G031J4 and STM32G041J6 basic series are also SO8N packages and add features such as a hardware AES accelerator, secure boot or firmware update secure storage area, extra timer and 96-bit unique device ID over the value series.
