STMicroelectronics introduces the flyback Converter Secondary Side Synchronous rectifier (SR) chips SRK1000A and SRK1000B, featuring high energy efficiency and low power consumption, and now adds a more cost-effective, smaller package for chargers, fast chargers, adapters and USB PD ports to the product family. Both the SRK1000A and SRK1000B are available in a 2.9mm x 2.8mm 6-pin SOT23-6L package.
The two devices use a minimum delay fast on-off design and innovative adaptive turn-off technology to maximize the on-time of synchronous rectified MOSFET tubes without adding external components and minimize the parasitic inductance effect in the circuit, resulting in a significant improvement in circuit system energy efficiency and a significant reduction in bill of material costs.
Both SRK1000A and SRK1000B can be used in a wide range of flyback controllers, including quasi-resonant (QR) and CCM/DCM mixed-mode flyback topologies with fixed frequencies up to 300kHz, simplifying system design. In both devices, the blanking time after on-off (TON) can be set by selecting resistance to prevent noise from causing stray problems. SRK1000A after TOFF blanking time is fixed at 2μs, SRK1000B is 3μs.
Both devices have a light-load, low-power power-saving mode, and when synchronous rectification is no longer needed, the controller goes into low-power sleep mode. The realization method is to detect whether the primary controller enters burst mode or whether the on-time of the synchronous rectifier MOSFET tube is lower than the TON minimum preset value. The controller low power mode static current is only 160μA.
The SRK1000A and SRK1000B are suitable for output voltages up to 19V, maintain a regulated output to 2V in CCM mode, and support a 4.5V-32V wide voltage supply with drain-source voltage rating of 100V. The output feed current up to 1A and pull current up to 0.6A are used to control the gate of the external n-channel synchronous rectification MOSFET tube.
