STMicroelectronics introduces transient voltage suppression diodes for greater protection in a smaller package

     STMicroelectronics introduces the latest generation of transient Voltage suppression (TVS) diodes with market-leading power density, rated at 600W and transient power up to 1500W in SMB Flat packages. The SMA Flat package, which is only 1.0mm thick, has a rated and transient power of 400W and 600W, respectively.

     STMicroelectronics' new 1500W SMB Flat package is not only thin, the transient power is comparable to that of traditional SMC packaged devices, while the package area is less than half that of traditional SMC packages. The packaging area of the 400W and 600W SMA Flat and SMB Flat products is fully compatible with alternative traditional SMA and SMB packaging products. The leakage current is one-fifth that of other TVS diodes on the market, minimizing the diode's impact on system operation and power consumption.

     STMicroelectronics' new line of ultra-thin packaged high power protection diodes covers reverse cutoff voltages from 5.0V to 188V and can be used in product devices such as telecommunications equipment, consumer products, power tools, electric bicycles, drones, robots and automotive electronics. The series, which also includes industrial and AEC-Q101 automotive products, is the widest selection of TVS diodes on the market.
