
STMicroelectronics joins industry group ZETA Alliance to promote the development of low-cost, long-distance iot connectivity products using ZETA Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology. ZETA technology is rapidly developing in China, Japan and around the world. By integrating innovative wireless technologies, ZETA technology enables low-power, low-cost devices to communicate wirelessly over long distances. In addition, the wireless technology natively supports Mesh mesh networks, which enable peer-to-peer communication between network nodes, improving network coverage and resilience.
ST joins the Alliance as a promotional member and anticipates that ZETA technology will further promote the growth and adoption of iot around the world. The standard enables developers to create cost-effective Iot-based solutions that address the design challenges posed by extreme cost constraints.
Hakim Jaafar, STM32 Wireless Market Director at ST, said: "ZETA's value proposition is highly impactable and has a place among mature LPWAN technologies, giving solution developers more technology choice and design flexibility, and enabling iot to better benefit more end users. As a key technical contributor to ZETA and a founding member of the ZETA Alliance, Zifisense welcomes ST to the ZETA Alliance. Dr. Li Zhuoqun, CEO of Zifisense, said: "We believe ST will significantly enhance the strength of ZETA's development ecosystem chain and facilitate the further development and deployment of ZETA technology. We look forward to working with ST to build the broader LPWAN 2.0 global IoT ecosystem."
ST is working with ZiFiSense to bring ZETA technology to the highly integrated STM32WL wireless System-on-a-chip (SoC). The STM32WL is a single-chip integrated ultra-low power microcontroller with international radio equipment Regulation certified wireless platform.
