STMicroelectronics' wide temperature serial EEPROM enhances flexibility in industrial control and intelligent lighting design

     ST's new Industrial-Plus serial EEPROM memory, with operating temperatures up to 105°C, is the most comprehensive EEPROM memory on the market in terms of storage capacity, bus interface and chip package options, giving designers more flexibility to update system data parameters. And there is no need to modify the printed circuit board design.

     The 34 new products belong to the M24(I2C) and M95(SPI) series, with storage capacities ranging from 2Kbits to 512Kbits, and are packaged in pin-compatible SO8N or TSSOP, with increased reliability enabling devices to operate in harsh temperature environments.

     Typical target applications include advanced industrial control and networking equipment, intelligent lighting systems, intelligent power switches, computer servers, and wireless communication modules for harsh environments. St's unique advanced EEPROM manufacturing process and compact mount package help designers address system size, weight and cost challenges.

     With a 4ms write time and support for clock frequencies up to 20MHz, the new product is ideal for high-speed parameter storage and fast data transfer applications. Write/erase up to 4M data at a time. Designers can also design traceability systems using on-chip device identifiers to protect sensitive data, such as product serial numbers, identifiers, or traceability information, with internal write-lock protection pages.
