Samsung has unveiled the industry's first integrated power management chip

     Samsung announced the industry's first integrated power management chips, MUA01 and MUB01, which are suitable for current TWS devices. As we all know, TWS headphones can provide users with more freedom of movement and daily activity range due to the absence of a cable. However, battery life and shape put new demands on TWS headphones.

     It is reported that the MUA01 and MUB01 chips are designed for charging cases and headphones, respectively, and can optimize TWS devices. By integrating several technologies within the company, Samsung has consolidated up to 10 discrete components into a single component, including switching chargers and discharge circuits, making the two chips less than half the space compared to previously developed alternatives. The compact solution allows for more space, is able to extend the battery life of the TWS headset, and makes it more flexible and compact.

     MUA01 is also the first solution in the industry to support both wireless and wired charging on a single chip. It supports the latest standard Qi 1.2.4 from the Wireless Power Alliance (WPC) and integrates an efficient switching charger to improve wired charging efficiency. In addition, the MUA01 comes with a microcontroller unit and embedded Flash with the ability to modify its firmware to support other applications.

     Shin Dong-ho, senior vice president of system integrated circuit marketing at Samsung Electronics, said: "TWS headphones provide users with a better listening experience and rapidly expand the mobile accessories market, creating new opportunities for device manufacturers." Samsung's chip will allow manufacturers to design new applications more flexibly. In addition, the MUA01 and MUB01 are currently in mass production and will appear in Samsung's recently released Galaxy Buds+ TWS headphones."
