Samtec Flyover QSFP cable system

     Samtec's Flyover QSFP (FQSFP) cable system. These high-performance cable systems transmit critical data signals via low-loss, ultra-low deflection twin-core cables instead of high-loss PCBS, thereby improving signal integrity and architectural flexibility and making them ideal for high-speed networking, digital video and communications.

     The FQSFP cable system is designed for use in 28 Gbps to 56+ Gbps applications where signal integrity is highly valued, and is compatible with all MSA QSFP pluggable transceivers. The FQSFP design is combined with the Eye Speed® dual-core cable to provide superior signal integrity and longer signal paths at higher data rates, as well as combined rates up to 400 Gbps (112 Gbps PAM4).

     The FQSFP cable system simplifies board layout and reduces heat dissipation challenges, while direct contacts inside the connector body eliminate the transfer plate and optimize signal integrity. Flyover's design includes localized crimped controls and power contacts to increase air flow and eliminate the need for auxiliary cables and connectors, in addition to supporting a dual-port architecture for maximum density.

     For design flexibility, the FQSFP cable system offers a variety of "End 2" options. These options include a mini side card connector for vertical or horizontal orientation, a side card socket, a FireFly™ Micro Flyover connector, and a high-speed crimp-connector. Other fittings provided include connector housing, radiator, and pipe.

     FQSFP cable systems support a variety of protocols, including Ethernet, USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0 and 4.0, IB FDR, IB EDR, Optical, SAS, SATA, and are ideal for data centers, high-speed networks, digital video, and communications.
