Samtec's discrete cables are designed for rugged applications

     Samtec's 2 mm Tiger Eye discrete wire system is designed for micro rugged, high reliability, high cycle applications. Tiger Eye is a multi finger heat treated beryllium copper alloy (BeCu) contact designed for harsh environments. The excellent elasticity of BeCu makes it an ideal choice for high matching and cyclic applications. Once formed and hardened, BeCu will retain its shape under various conditions.

     The contact mating surface is located on the flat and smooth side of each golden finger. Because the pressure on electroplating is reduced, the smooth surface allows more matching cycles, thus providing lower contact resistance and longer electroplating life. The micro slot at the tail allows the solder paste to penetrate the slot, wetting the larger surface area on the lead and providing greater solder joint strength. The connector with the tail micro slot can adhere the wet solder better than the flat lead before reflow soldering.

     This discrete wire system offers a dual row configuration with up to 60 pins, and vertical and right angle terminals. They can be provided as components or complete assemblies, including T2M (board assembly), ISD2 (socket housing), ITD2 (terminal housing), CC81L/CC81R (crimp contact) and T1M82-L/T1M82-R (crimp terminal). Hand tools and bench tools are also available for assembling components into complete cable assemblies.
