Nordic Semiconductor has introduced nRF7002, a companion IC that integrates seamless Wi-Fi 6 connectivity into multiple applications. Rutronik is available now. The device is a cost-effective and power-saving option with high speed, enhanced range and excellent reliability from the latest Wi-Fi standards.
The companion IC is currently unique in the Nordic portfolio and can be optimally combined with their ultra-low power technology. It is also compatible with the existing nRF52 and nRF53 series Bluetooth SoCs and nRF91 series Cellular iot sip. Due to these features, the IC is well suited for a range of applications such as smart cities, smart agriculture, smart home, wearable devices and healthcare.
The IC operates on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands and offers a variety of network connection options. The device is a cost-effective and powerful solution that provides products with the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology, ideal for medical or inventory tracking applications. Its low power consumption makes it particularly interested in battery-powered wireless products. The device is intended for use with the nRF connected SDK. The platform has many tools and libraries for developing applications, so this IC is the best choice.
