Secure UWB precision ranging chips for widely deployed mobile terminal devices

     NXP Semiconductors has officially launched the SR100T, a secure precision ranging chipset that delivers tailored, high-precision positioning performance for the next generation of UWB-enabled mobile devices. With the SR100T, mobile terminals will be able to communicate with smart doors, entrances and cars, opening them once they are close. Smart lamps, smart speakers and any other connected device with UWB sensing can sense the movement of users in different rooms, and smart connected technology can be intuitively integrated into people's lives.

     NXP's connectivity and mobile ecosystem expertise and proven security architecture are already widely used in many of today's popular mobile devices equipped with NFC and SE hardware, and the new chipset SR100T with UWB technology goes a step further. The added UWB capability brings new relative positioning connectivity to a wide range of indoor and outdoor devices with little interference.

     In addition, UWB technology provides excellent accuracy even in crowded, multi-channel signal environments with numerous walls, people, and other obstacles. End users do not need to take their mobile devices out of their pockets to experience the functionality and connectivity offered by this solution. The technology is also equipped with Angle positioning (AoA) technology, which can accurately indicate the direction of the signal, further improving the accuracy. The SR100T also extends NXP's mobile wallet solution to provide spatial awareness for new non-inductive access applications.
