Securely connected MCU enables faster NFC authentication

     NXP Semiconductors announced the PN7642, a single-chip solution that integrates customizable MCUS, NFC readers, and SESIP-Level 2 security, Provides faster and more secure NFC transaction processing for physical access solutions, secure authentication, consumable authentication, and other NFC use cases.NFC technology has become the basis for security authentication, whether verifying that the person standing at the front door has been granted access by the homeowner, or verifying that consumables plugged into a medical device support use with that device.

     "For people and goods, NFC has become an essential element of security authentication," said Alasdair Ross, senior director of NFC iot Security at NXP. By combining customizable MCUS with NFC Forum Certified NFC solutions and a complete security toolbox, the PN7642 makes it easier to integrate NFC technology into new or existing security authentication solutions."

     The solution integrates high performance, NFC Forum certified NFC readers with a power output of 2W. Integrated customizable Arm Cortex-M33 MCU features 180kB flash memory, 20kB RAM and rich controller and host interface. It includes SESIP-Level 2 authentication, a full security toolbox, cryptoaccelerator and secure key store, all supported by software.
