Silicon Labs expands its portfolio of breakthrough Wi-Fi modules and transceivers, enabling developers to create end-node products with optimal power efficiency, superior RF immunity, and a high level of security. Designed to meet the specific needs of iot applications, the Wireless Gecko product family reduces Wi-Fi power consumption by half compared to competing products, providing the ideal Wi-Fi solution for power-sensitive interconnected products such as battery-powered IP security cameras, point-of-sale scanners, asset trackers, and personal medical devices.

Half the power consumption of existing Wi-Fi products: industry-leading transmit current (TX: 138mA), receive current (RX: 48mA) and sleep current (< The combination of 40μA) delivers significant energy savings for all IoT application scenarios. Helps minimize power consumption by using less channel capacity, high throughput, and fewer retransmissions.

State-of-the-art security: The Wi-Fi portfolio offers a range of built-in security features to protect iot products from online and physical hacks, including secure startup with anti-rollback, secure connectivity, and efficient industry-standard encryption WPA3.

Superior RF anti-jamming performance: Wi-Fi devices designed by Silicon Labs have excellent RF selectivity to block adjacent channel noise and maintain throughput and connectivity in crowded RF environments, such as smart homes with many connected devices.

Simple operating system, development tools, and certification: Gecko OS is an optional, feature-rich iot operating system that simplifies design complexity and allows iot developers to focus on their Wi-Fi applications. Developers can start design work in minutes using comprehensive development tools with a wireless starter kit with embedded and Linux host drivers. The Wi-Fi modules have been pre-certified for global operation, further reducing development time, effort and risk.

The WGM160P module, the latest addition to the portfolio, further expands the design possibilities and offers a wide range of peripheral capabilities, including Ethernet and capacitive touch, by combining onboard Gecko microcontrollers, host support, integrated antennas, pre-certification, mass memory (2MB flash and 512K RAM), and more. Provides an easier way to create cloud-connected iot products.

The WFM200 module is an integrated antenna, minimum size, and pre-certified Wi-Fi system-on-chip package (SiP) that is ideal for space-constrained designs. The module also meets new industrial and outdoor applications that require 105°C temperature support.
