
Silicon Labs has introduced a new all-in-one isolation solution, the Si823Hx gate driver board, which provides perfect support for the recently released Wolfspeed WolfPACK power module. Wolfspeed power modules can be used in numerous power applications, including electric vehicle (EV) chargers and motor drivers in industrial and automotive markets. The board contains the Si823Hx isolated gate driver and the Si88xx digital isolator with an integrated DC-DC converter, providing superior performance in a compact and cost-effective design optimized for a variety of modules.

Silicon Labs' isolated gate driver technology can be used in a variety of power applications, including high-power converters and inverters, motor and traction drivers, and EV chargers. The Si823Hx gate driver board provides superior performance to efficiently drive and protect power modules with any switching technology, including advanced silicon carbide (SiC) modules used in the most demanding high-power applications.
With built-in dead-time control and overlap protection in a small package, the dual-channel Si823Hx isolated gate driver offers unmatched value for being able to safely drive half-bridge topologies with minimal design effort. The highly integrated Si88xx device not only transmits the temperature of the power module to the controller, but also provides all power to the on-board circuits, further reducing costs and simplifying design.
A complete set of design resources developed by Silicon Labs in partnership with Wolfspeed can be used to quickly launch Wolfspeed WolfPACK evaluation and development, including reference designs, evaluation test units, and system test reports.
