Silicon Motion Technology Corporation introduces the industry's first in-vehicle IVI class single-package SSD solution

     Silicon Motion Technology Corporation, a global leader in the design and marketing of NAND flash controllers for solid-state storage devices, announced the launch of its automotion-grade PATA and SATA designed for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems FerriSSD Solutions.

     FerriSSD solutions are designed to replace SATA and PATA hard drives that have been widely used in embedded applications such as in-vehicle IVI systems. Thanks to the integration of NAND flash memory and Silicon Motion Technology Corporation's industry-leading controllers in a small BGA package, FerriSSD solutions are not only faster, but also significantly more durable and reliable than traditional hard drives. The new in-vehicle IVI Class FerriSSD solution complies with the AEC-Q100 standard and supports wide temperature operation in the range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.
