Stmicro configurable low voltage drop regulator provides functional safety required diagnostic functions

     The STMICRO L99VR01 AEC-Q100 certified low voltage drop linear regulator features eight optional fixed output voltages, functional safety diagnostics and excellent overheat protection, helping to simplify system design and facilitate inventory management for a wide variety of automotive applications.

     The regulator has a maximum output current of 200mA and is capable of driving loads such as body control modules, junction boxes, dashboards, sunroof controllers, keyless entry controllers and sensors. The output voltage can be set to 0.8V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V, 3.3V or 5V through three external chip selection pins. The output voltage accuracy is better than that of the external voltage divider, within the range of ±2% of the nominal voltage.

     There are currently two products in this product. The L99VR01S uses standard SO-8 packaging, which has security functions such as enabled pins and reset pins, as well as fast output discharge, low-voltage locking (UVLO), heat-off and short-circuit protection. The range is -40 ° C to 150 ° C.

     L99VR01J is packaged by PowerSSO-12, which increases short-circuit current settings, high-temperature warning and output over-pressure state indicator than the previous one, and a programmable door dog is used to verify whether the main control microcontroller operation is normal. The working temperature range of L99VR01J is wider to reach -40 ° C to 175 ° C.

     By integrated output over -pressure monitoring on the chip, the new stabilizer can provide continuous load protection.
