Stmicro introduces the high side switch controller with flexible diagnostic protection function

     Stmicro VNF1048F high side switch controller integrates enhanced system protection diagnosis function and STMICRO I2-t silicon fusing protection technology. QFN 32L 5mm x 5mm 32 pin package

     The first product in STMicro's new STi2Fuse line of integrated I2-t protection features, the VNF1048F is compatible with 12V, 24V and 48V automotive Power systems (board nets), Its excellent flexibility makes it particularly suitable for designing the latest automotive regional electronic/electrical (E/E) architectures with higher energy efficiency and reliability, while meeting the higher electrification and functionality requirements of intelligent driving.

     Feature-rich and highly adaptive, the VNF1048F is equipped with a serial peripheral interface (SPI) that can connect to the main microcontroller, configure and monitor system protection diagnostic functions, including undervoltage protection, overheat protection, external high-edge MOSFET thermal protection, desaturation off and I2-t fusing Settings. The product has built-in high precision digital current measurement capabilities and an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to monitor thermistor voltage, output voltage, and drain-source voltage that are sensitive to temperature changes.

     Stmicro's I2-t fuse is the core feature of the STi2Fuse family of products that perform fast response, repeatable Settings, and reliable overcurrent protection. The introduction of silicon fusing insurance eliminates the need for user-accessible fuse boxes and associated wiring and installation costs, helping to simplify automotive wiring harnesses and reduce cable weight. The light weight of the vehicle helps to improve the performance of the vehicle, extend the driving range and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
