STMicroelectronics launched a new platform that can accelerate the development of digital car keys. With digital keys, consumers can enter the car without a key through mobile devices. In addition to enhancing security, digital car keys can also provide greater convenience for car owners, including the ability to customize the right to use vehicles while protecting vehicle security. Business activities such as car sharing, fleet management and vehicle leasing will benefit from it, such as simpler car key issuance, vehicle access control, and valet parking drivers and vehicle maintenance technicians entering the vehicle.
This overall solution is based on the latest car safety unit hardware of STF Semiconductor, which is jointly developed by STF Semiconductor and Giesecke+Devrient (G+D). It supports the latest version 3.0 of the digital car key standard of the Internet of Vehicles (CCC) to ensure that the application has a high security protection function.

STMicroelectronics' STSAFE-VJ100-CCC on-board system chip solution is based on CC EAL6+certified secondary vehicle regulation ST33K-A safety chip, integrating Java Card application software. The system chip is responsible for storing certificates and other sensitive information, and performing encryption operations required by the CCC digital car key version 3.0 use case, such as car owner pairing, key sharing, and key deactivation/deletion. This provides a solid foundation for customers to build digital car key solutions.
