Fpgas are leading this change with their unmatched flexibility and performance. From data centers to network edge devices, these multifunctional devices are being integrated into a wide range of applications, enabling more efficient and powerful computing solutions. The accelerated processing power and adaptability offered by FPgas, coupled with advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, have greatly enhanced the capabilities of AI models. As a result, FPgas are becoming a cornerstone in developing the next generation of technologies, driving advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of Things, paving the way for smarter, more agile systems.

 

Lattice is at the forefront of driving FPGA technology with a focus on low-power solutions designed to meet the growing demand for low-power, high-performance computing in applications at the network edge. By developing small FPgas with extremely low power consumption, Lattice is driving a new wave of smart devices that can operate efficiently in constrained environments. At Lattice Developer Conference, Lattice continued this leadership with the unveiling of new power - and performance-optimized hardware and software solutions that provide new momentum for low-power FPGA innovation.

 

Strengthen the leadership of small size FPgas

Lattice announced the Lattice Nexus™ 2 platform, the latest addition to the company's family of low-power, small-size FPGas offering industry-leading low-power, high-performance and small-size features.

 

Based on TSMC's proven 16 nm FinFET process, this new platform features advanced low-power, network edge interconnect, and data protection and security capabilities to address the growing challenges facing customers. For example, Lattice's Nexus 2 platform, with its superior data throughput, storage performance, fast flash configuration, enhanced timing convergence and parallel processing capabilities, enables critical applications including motor control, robotics, automotive partition gateways and network edge monitoring. These leading-edge features improve overall efficiency, safety, data integrity, device reliability, and system performance, giving developers greater flexibility to design a wide range of applications regardless of power consumption, performance, size, and security.

 

Compared to competing devices, Lattice Nexus 2 delivers up to 3 times lower power consumption, up to 3.2 times faster MIPI speed, up to 10 times faster configuration time, and up to 5 times smaller size, enabling a simplified and efficient system design. The platform also offers advanced interconnect capabilities, including multi-protocol 16G SERDES with PCIe® Gen 4 controller, high-performance I/O, high-speed LPDDR4 memory interface support, and industry-leading MIPI D and C-PHY up to 7.98 Gbps. In addition, Lattice Nexus 2 brings industry-leading security features, including cryptographic agility, protection against post-quantum threats, and anti-tamper protection.

 

In addition, Lattice's platform-based design approach facilitates rapid development of multiple product families on a single platform. With the new Lattice Nexus 2 FPGA platform, Lattice plans to introduce more general purpose, video interconnect, and control and security FPGA products to address the latest technology trends and design challenges.

 

Expand the mid-range FPGA series

The new Avant 30 and Avant 50 devices based on Lattice's Avant platform offer new capacity options to help enable advanced interconnect application development optimized at the network edge. These devices comprise Lattice Avant's three families (-E, -G, -X), providing customers with more interconnect, capacity, and feature options. Developers can select devices with the right capacity for their application, optimizing the total cost of ownership and power consumption for their application.

 

The Avant 30 and Avant 50 are ideal for functions such as network edge processing and connectivity, serving a variety of end-market applications including computing, communications, defense, industrial and medical.

 

The first of these products, the Lattice Certus™-N2 Universal FPGA, is officially available for demo today and is supported by the latest versions of the Lattice Propel™ and Lattice Radiant™ design software. The new products will help customers meet the evolving needs of network edge applications, implement their designs more efficiently and bring their solutions to market faster.

 

Expand the software and solution collection

Lattice announces new versions of Lattice Radiant™ and Lattice Propel™ software tools to support the new Lattice Nexus 2 FPGA platform, Lattice Certus-N2 FPGA family, and Lattice Avant devices. New features include a new RISC-V® version and optimizations for debugging, power calculation and ease of use.

 

Lattice also released four solution set updates: Lattice sensAI™ (Artificial Intelligence at the network Edge), Lattice mVision™ (Embedded vision), Lattice Automate™ (factory automation) and Lattice Drive™ (Automotive design). These updates include application-specific performance enhancements, IP, presentation, and reference design expansions.
