Supermicro introduces AMD EPYC 7003 series processors with 36% performance improvements

     Super Micro Computer, a global leader in enterprise computing, storage, networking solutions and green computing technologies, today announced the industry's most complete server product line supporting AMD EPYC 7003 series processors. Supermicro's SuperBlade has achieved back-to-back world-record benchmark scores in the critical-jOPS and max-jOPS tests at SPECjbb 2015-Distributed. SuperBlade has increased performance by as much as 36% from AMD EPYC CPU1 Generation 2 to Generation 3, an impressive increase that can meet the demands of highly efficient enterprise workloads.

 

     The Supermicro A+ family of products includes servers that combine single - and dual-path system solutions designed to reduce the time required to get results and improve the efficiency of business decisions. For example, the recently announced new 2U 2-node multi-GPU server is the ideal platform for video streaming, high-class cloud gaming, and countless social networking applications. It offers market-leading system flexibility, cost savings and uninterrupted performance.      The new third-generation AMD EPYC 7003 series processors feature a "Zen3" core design with 19 percent more instructions per cycle than the previous generation and can contain up to 64 cores per slot, demonstrating superior performance in many common benchmarks and real-world workloads. Supermicro's new systems include a range of computing and storage systems designed for the most demanding applications in AI, high performance computing (HPC), enterprise and cloud deployments.

     These solutions include: Artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML)/Deep learning (DL) training inference workload optimization, certified servers, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI)/software-defined infrastructure (SDI), such as VMWare vSAN, RedHat CEPH, and Weka.IO software-defined storage.
