Super Micro, a global leader in enterprise computing, storage, networking solutions and green computing technologies, announced that its industry-leading server portfolio optimized for second-generation AMD EPYC processors has achieved 27 world-record performance benchmarks and scores.

Super Micro, a global leader in enterprise computing, storage, networking solutions and green computing technologies, announced that its industry-leading server portfolio optimized for second-generation AMD EPYC processors has achieved 27 world-record performance benchmarks and scores. In addition to featuring the industry's first Blade platform, Supermicro's new H12 A+ server portfolio features full support for the newly released high-frequency AMD EPYC 7Fx2 family of processors.

Building on the new H12 SuperBlade and single - and dual-slot multi-node Twin A+ servers, Supermicro will also introduce its next-generation A+ server WIO family, as well as a 4U server that supports eight dual-width Gpus. This series of A+ servers supports PCI-E 4.0x16, delivers 200G connection transfers, and has a large memory footprint, with up to 4 terabytes (4TB) per CPU slot, and supports high-speed DDR4 memory up to 3200MHz for unprecedented performance levels.

"Supermicro A+ servers based on second-generation AMD EPYC processors have achieved 27 world-record performance benchmarks and scores," said Vik Malyala, senior vice president of FAE and Business Development at Supermicro. "For example, our A+ servers have achieved world-leading performance levels in TPCx-IoT metrics, with the H12 TwinPro powered by an AMD EPYC 7Fx2 processor offering the best price/performance ratio compared to previous record holders.

"We are excited about Supermicro's new family of servers powered by the second generation of AMD EPYC, especially the industry's first Blade server with AMD EPYC technology," said Dan McNamara, senior vice president and general manager of AMD's server business unit. "Our new high-frequency AMD EPYC 7Fx2 processor provides a significant boost to help drive better results in key enterprise workloads that meet the needs of their broad customer base."

The new A+ SuperBlade features a resource-saving architecture optimized for performance and density, with up to 20 hot-swapable single-slot nodes based on 8U, a 100G EDR, and an integrated network architecture that supports upcoming up to 200G HDR InfiniBand. The high-performance, high-density optimized and energy efficient A+ SuperBlade significantly reduces initial capital and operating expenses for many companies through shared cooling, power and network infrastructure.

Supermicro A+ WIO systems offer a wide range of I/O options, enabling customers to optimize storage and networking alternatives to speed up performance, increase efficiency, and find the perfect match for their application. This series of single-slot 1U servers supports three PCI 4.0x16 slots, 8 or 16 DIMM versions, and redundant and efficient platinum-grade power supplies. Both WIO and Ultra A+ systems can support 10-24 NVMe drives for single - or dual-processor systems without the need for PCI-E switches for optimal storage performance.

To maximize AI, Deep Learning, and HPC workloads, Supermicro's new A+ GPU system supports up to eight full-height dual-width (or single-width) Gpus. The in-line PCI-E 4.0x16 connects the CPU to the GPU channel without using any PCI-E switches for the lowest time ductility and highest bandwidth. The system also supports up to three additional high-performance PCI-E 4.0 expansion slots that can be used for a variety of purposes, including up to 100G of high-performance network connection transfers. The additional AIOM slot can support Supermicro AIOM cards or OCP 3.0 mezzanine cards.

Supermicro offers an industry-leading portfolio of systems based on EPYC architecture, as well as Server Building Block Solutions, which include ATX and E-ATX motherboards. From single-slot mainstream and WIO servers, to high-end Ultra server systems and multi-node systems, including BigTwin and TwinPro, with Supermicro's offerings, customers will be able to build application-optimized solutions with a wide range of configuration possibilities.
