Swissbit launches the storage device management tool

     Swissbit Device Manager (SBDM) is a software tool used by Swissbit, a Swiss-based storage and security specialist, to manage storage devices. The latest version of SBDM enables customers to perform firmware updates while also providing comprehensive data and analysis of the Swissbit storage solution lifecycle status. As a result, the software is able to provide Swissbit customers currently in the design phase with a wide range of testing options and extremely high customization flexibility. The user-friendly software displays all captured data and is the primary user interface for all Swissbit storage products. The tool is available as a free download for Windows and Linux from the Swissbit website.

     The goal of this software tool from Swissbit is to minimize machine downtime and failure costs while improving system reliability. In addition, it can accurately determine maintenance and service requirements. Thanks to the addition of new capabilities to perform firmware updates using locally stored firmware packages, customers and Swissbit's FAE team can now communicate more effectively, especially during the design phase. Customers can easily install and test product-specific firmware feature adjustments.

     Swissbit Device Manager is a further development of the successful system Swissbit Lifetime Monitoring Tool, which has been further expanded in both functionality and ease of use. SBDM is a complete monitoring and systems tool with many advantages, including the standard S.M.A.R.T. Parameters (self-monitoring, analysis, and reporting techniques) and utilization of individual flash blocks. Important telemetry data, general device information (such as serial numbers and firmware versions), utilization statistics (such as NAND flash erase times), and ECC/CRC counters are displayed in the SBDM. All historical data is recorded in the storage device.
