TDK MLJ-G series fixed inductors

     The TDK MLJ-G series of fixed inductors are compact components designed for automotive coaxial power supply (PoC) implementations. MLJ-G inductors have a maximum rated impedance of 2500Ω and have less current variation than conventional multilayer inductors. Despite their size of 1.6mm x 0.8mm x 0.8mm, these inductors can still achieve a high current rating of 500mA, significantly reducing impedance variation in current applications.

     In addition, these components provide reliable performance at temperatures up to +125°C. Many car camera systems that use LVDS transmissions employ the PoC method, which superimposes data and power onto a single coaxial cable. By transmitting data and providing power, the PoC reduces the number of wire harnesses required, helping to reduce vehicle weight and save space.

     Separating the data from the power supply in the PoC circuit requires efficient filtering, which typically consists of two to four inductors. Inductors used for this filter must have high impedance for AC elements ranging from low frequency to high frequency. The TDK MLJ-G series of fixed inductors have impedance values of 1000Ω or higher at a variety of frequencies, making them ideal for meeting these requirements.
