
Micronas, a member of TDK, expands its line of Hall sensors with HAL 39xy, which supports stray field compensation and has a highly flexible architecture sensing multidimensional magnetic field, registered under the trade name masterHAL. The range meets the requirements of today's and tomorrow's automotive and industrial markets, offering four different measurement modes in a single product: linear position measurement, 360° Angle measurement, 180° Angle measurement with gradual stray field compensation, and true three-dimensional magnetic field measurement (BX, BY, BZ).
The magnetic field measurement accuracy is high and it is not sensitive to stray field. This unique concept is based on Hall plates. Each measurement mode uses a different combination of masterHAL® Hall plates to achieve the best results for each mode. The highly flexible combination allows engineers to select the best measurement mode for any given measurement task. This brings clear benefits to customers: they can approve only one product without having to focus on various versions of hardware. The new product is ideal for a variety of applications: various valves and actuators, selectors and shifters, pedal position measurement, position measurement in transmissions, steering wheel Angle measurement, chassis position measurement, etc.
Thanks to its flexible architecture, the HAL 39xy series sensors support a variety of configuration methods. Having a powerful DSP and an embedded microprocessor is one of the features of this product. The DSP is responsible for processing signals quickly, and the microprocessor performs interface configuration and manages tasks related to functional safety. TDK-Micronas supports the development of custom DSP and microprocessor firmware. Combined with the flexible Hall sensor front end, customers can realize new kinds of applications.
HAL 39xy's revolutionary architecture makes it easy for customers to develop new solutions using prototyping technology. Easily and quickly adapt to changes in interface standards such as SENT, SPI, and PSI5. The first samples can be ordered now. Several versions of the product are still under development, such as stacked versions with redundancy functionality and integrated capacitors.
