The TDK Group introduces a fully tested new Online AlCap Useful Life Calculation tool for EPCOS aluminum electrolytic capacitors - a complete revision of version 4.0. The tool covers all screw, solder and solder pin new high voltage capacitors (> 150 V DC). These DC link capacitors can help improve inverter design for industrial applications and are more widely used in photovoltaic power generation, wind power generation and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
The AlCap tool allows up to 15 load parameters to be entered simultaneously to calculate the lifetime of the application, and can be stored for later use if needed. Users can also use its powerful capabilities to develop applications with a single capacitor or capacitor cabinet, and simply enter the specified CSC code in the corresponding data sheet to calculate the life according to the special material specifications.
After the user enters all the relevant parameters, the relevant hot spot temperature, power consumption and other data can be obtained. The Service Life Calculation tool calculates the service life of a component based on a given load condition, helping industrial designers select solutions that meet the requirements of demanding applications.
