TDK introduces a new series of mount-type aluminum electrolytic capacitors

     TDK Corporation has once again expanded its portfolio of mixed polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors with the introduction of a new SMD capacitor series. The new components are available in 25 V DC / 330 µF and 35 V DC / 270 µF versions, each 10 mm x 10.2 mm (diameter x length), and both meet the requirements of the RoHS directive and the AEC-Q200 standard, with a maximum operating temperature of 125°C. Service life of at least 4,000 hours.

     Two electrical parameters fully explain the compact characteristics of the capacitor: an ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) value of less than 20mΩ and A large ripple current capability of 2.8 A at 125°C and 100 kHz. Hybrid polymer technology makes these excellent features possible. The order numbers of the capacitors, B40900B5337M000 (330 µF) and B40900B7277M000 (270 µF), are suitable not only for automotive electronic control units, but also for a variety of industrial applications.

     The new SMD series fills the gap in the current series of the world's first axial hybrid polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Axial capacitors range in size from 14 mm x 25 mm to 16 mm x 30 mm (diameter x length), with rated voltages of 25 V, 35 V or 63 V and capacitance values ranging from 390μF to 2100μF. Despite their light weight and small size, capacitors can provide a large current capacity for automotive power modules.
