TDK introduces high current noise filters for loudspeakers

     TDK Corporation has expanded the product lineup of the MAF series of noise filters by developing two new MAF1608GAD-L filters for audio lines. With a footprint of just 1.6 x 0.8mm and an insertion height of just 0.6mm, the new laminated filter is able to suppress noise at 1 GHz cellular frequencies and noise generated by Class D amplifiers, while ensuring high attenuation quality.

     The filters have current ratings of 3.2A and 2.3A, DC resistances as low as 0.021Ω and 0.045Ω, respectively, and impedances of 120Ω and 200Ω at 900 MHz. Due to the low DC resistance and high current rating (over 2 A), this new product is particularly suitable for smart speakers and external speakers for tablets requiring power levels of 2 W or more, as well as smart speakers and external speakers for headphones and microphones.

     Thanks to the low-distortion ferrite material used in the MAF series, including the new MAF1608GAD-L, noise suppression is very effective. As a result, these filters in the speaker line greatly improve the reception sensitivity and solve the problem of deteriorating sound quality caused by the use of traditional patch magnetic beads. The new product also complements the MAF1005GAD noise filter for smartphone headsets and microphone cords. In the future, TDK will continue to expand its product range to meet customer requirements for noise reduction and high audio quality.
