TDK introduces inductors for small and medium power systems in TWS equipment

     TDK Corporation has developed the PLEA67 series inductors for true wireless stereo (TWS) devices, a new series of inductors for use in integrated power circuits in wireless headsets used in smartphones, portable players and similar devices. In addition to having an excellent 500 mA current rating, the PLEA67 series inductors have one of the smallest external dimensions in the industry at 1.0mm (length) x 0.6mm (width) x 0.8mm (height).

     In board design, this compact external size helps save space, and it also helps to reduce the weight of the headset, providing the user with mobility comfort. The inductor adopts a magnetic shield structure, which reduces magnetic leakage and paves the way for high density. The thin film process of the inductor uses TDK's original structural design and newly developed materials to achieve a rated current of 500mA even at sizes of 1.0mm (height) x 0.6mm (width) x 0.8mm (height) and inductors up to 2.2μH.

     TWS devices are increasingly used in smartphones, smartwatches and other wearable devices. Therefore, in this field, the demand for electronic components is also increasing. TDK will continue to expand its inductor product lineup through higher efficiency as well as smaller sizes to meet customer and growing market demands.
