TDK introduces the DeltaCap X Black Premium capacitor

     TDK Corporation introduces the DeltaCap X Black Premium capacitor, a new series of EPCOS MKD capacitors developed specifically for power factor correction (PFC). Voltage ratings range from 440 V AC to 850 V AC, and the internal triangular connection design is ideal for low voltage power factor correction and harmonic filtering applications. Cell capacitors range in capacity from 3 x51μF to 3 x165μF, and output power from 20 kvar to 44 kvar (50/60 Hz).

     The capacitors are widely used in conventional or dynamic PFC systems with or without reactors, as well as in industrial power grids and tuned circuits in harmonic filters. The new series of capacitors use a special black coating for better heat dissipation and can be used for up to 300,000 hours at a temperature class of -40 / D. Thanks to their ultra-robust construction, the B32305A  series capacitors can withstand a maximum inrush current of 500 x IR, operate at ambient temperatures up to + 65°C, and perform up to 62,000 switching operations per year.

     Like all EPCOS power factor correction capacitors, DeltaCap X Black Premium capacitors are self-healing and are equipped with an overvoltage separation protection that isolates all three phase wires of the capacitor from the grid in the event of a failure. In addition, the new series of capacitors are filled with biodegradable soft resin as the impregnation material, which helps to improve the heat dissipation performance of the product.
