TDK Corporation introduces the new ERU19, ERU24 and ERU27 (B82559) series of components, further completing the EPCOS ERU-SMT power inductor portfolio. Each of these new families includes more than 10 product types covering the inductance range from 1.0µH to 30µH and the saturation current range from 11.5 A DC to 101.5 A DC at 25°C.
One of the main highlights of the new component is the compact size, with the PCB occupying only 19.9 x 18.5 mm2 to 27.8 x 25.8 mm2, which is 14% less than the previous model. Low product heights ranging from 7.65 mm to 16.9 mm, depending on the model. And the compact design based on the flat wire spiral winding technology can effectively reduce the loss.
The new element has a resistance range of 0.46 mΩ to 17.0 mΩ, an operating temperature range of -40°C to +150°C, and the addition of a third welding bit to the product base, which effectively improves the mechanical stability of the installation on the PCB, and can be widely used as an output and energy storage choke coil in various power topologies. These include point-of-load power (POL) converters, DC-DC converters, high-current switching mode power supplies, inverters in photovoltaic systems, and automotive applications. All components are RoHS compliant and certified to AEC-Q200 standard.
