TDK's BCL series compact high performance automotive power inductors

TDK's BCL series power inductors are developed for automotive electronic products and are intended to be inserted into the power cord of automotive electronic control circuits. Recently, electronic control devices for information communication and automatic driving have become more and more popular in automobiles, which leads to an increase in the number of inductors used for power circuits in the devices.

     TDK's BCL series of power inductors were developed for automotive electronics and are designed to be plugged into the power lines of automotive electronic control circuits. Recently, electronic control devices for information communication and autonomous driving in automobiles have become more and more common, resulting in an increase in the number of inductors used for power circuits in the equipment. By using a metallic magnetic material as the core material, the element size is reduced by approximately 35% compared to products using conventional ferrite materials with similar properties.

 

     In addition, these products use TDK's proprietary material technology and structural design to achieve high inductance of up to 47 µH at A small size of only 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.5 mm, a saturation current of 0.72 A, and a rated voltage of 40 V. The range has also been extended to include products in sizes 3.2mm x 2.5mm x 2.0mm to accommodate higher saturation current ratings. With these specifications, the BCL family of products can be used directly from the on-board 12 V battery input main power circuit.

 

     Operating temperature range is -55°C to +155°C (including its own temperature rise), can support harsh temperature environment. In addition, the connection structure between the winding wires and the external electrodes is designed to reduce open circuit risk, thus ensuring the high reliability required for automotive applications.
