TDK's VLS-EX-D series inductors provide high current and low DC resistance power for automotive power circuits

TDK's VLS5030EX-D inductor is a part of the VLS-EX-D series wound ferrite inductor automobile power supply circuit. These compact components provide excellent DC superimposed characteristics and guaranteed performance at temperatures up to+150 ° C. These inductors are applicable to headlamp, airbag, electric power steering (EPS), advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), engine control unit (ecu) and various other power circuit applications.

     TDK's VLS5030EX-D inductor is part of the VLS-EX-D series of wound ferrite inductors automotive power circuit. These compact components provide excellent DC stacking characteristics with guaranteed performance at temperatures up to +150°C. These inductors are suitable for headlights, airbags, electric power steering (EPS), Advanced Driver assistance systems (ADAS), engine control units (ECUs), and a variety of other power circuit applications.


     VLS-EX-D's compact components support vehicle power over coaxial (PoC) implementations with excellent DC stacking characteristics for data transfer and power supply, meeting the needs of under-cowl-mounted ECUs for charging a variety of vehicle control functions, infotainment, autonomous driving and other applications. In addition, as the processing power of integrated circuits increases and higher currents are required, the VLS-EX-D series contributes to these e specifications.


     The VLS-EX-D series of inductors achieve higher current ratings than TDK's standard VLS-EX-H series inductors. These improvements are the magnetic shielding capabilities achieved using TDK's innovative metallic magnetic materials. The VLS-EX-D inductor has an Isat rating of 3.3 A at 4.7 μH, about 6 percent higher than a standard component of the same size. In addition, a high reliability welding method is used to connect the wire windings to the external electrodes to achieve reflux and high temperature operating environment.
