TE Connectivity designs next-generation gyroscope tilt sensors

TE ConnecTIvity designed the AXISENSE-G dynamic tilt sensor. This next-generation tilt sensor uses gyroscopic compensation to combine powerful MEMS sensing elements with advanced filtering capabilities for a stable and highly accurate tilt sensor output.

Global safety regulations for high-altitude platforms and agricultural and construction vehicles are becoming more stringent than ever before. From excavators digging holes to boom lifts used to help workers pick cherries or land cables, tilt sensors ensure that safety and increased uptime are met even in dynamic and harsh environments. Sensor Fusion - AXISENSE-G uses a variety of sensors to measure acceleration, rotational speed, and temperature. The back-end algorithm calculates the data quickly to produce a highly accurate output signal.

Custom filtering and signal processing - Digital signal processing programs include factory calibration and temperature calibration for accelerometers and gyroscopes. A well-designed signal regulator with low distortion, customized filter levels, and options for customizing noise output allows this sensor to be used in a wide range of noisy environments.

High accuracy - TE's AXISENSE-G tilt sensor has high accuracy and a wide operating temperature range (-40° to 85°C). The accuracy is ±0.5° at rest. The accuracy is ±1.5° under dynamic conditions. AXISENSE-G can simultaneously measure pitch and roll angles up to ±75° with very low noise output and a response time of less than 100 ms.

Easy to install - AXISENSE-G is compact and features a high-strength plastic housing, making it a direct replacement for previous models. Its IP67 rating provides excellent protection in harsh environments such as condensation, oil stains, grease, fuel and other contaminants. Supports CANJ1939 and USB signal output.
