TE Connectivity introduces a new portfolio of high-current pins and sockets

TE Connectivity announced the launch of a new high-current pin and socket portfolio designed to address the need for high current ratings for high-speed board-to-board and board-to-bus-bar data communications applications. The portfolio includes ICCON Block and ICCON Insert connectors that offer flexible design options and floating capabilities, are easy to install and are suitable for applications with power up to 350 A.

TE Connectivity, the global leader in innovative connectivity solutions for high-speed computing and networking applications, announced the launch of a new portfolio of high-current pins and sockets designed to address the need for high current ratings in high-speed board-to-board and board-to-bus data communications applications. The portfolio includes ICCON Block and ICCON Insert connectors that offer flexible design options and floating capabilities, are easy to install and are suitable for applications with power up to 350 A.

The floating feature of ICCON Insert products makes them easy to install. The product allows a radial deviation of plus or minus 1 mm when two printed circuit boards (PCBS) or bus bars are plugged in. The portfolio's flexible design options support a wide range of installation types to meet different assembly process requirements. Its standard pin sizes support 30 A to 350 A currents. Power pins of different lengths can also be customized to stack heights. Featuring a proven CROWN BAND Plus socket design, the series offers a full range of sizes for low contact resistance and low power consumption.

Lily Zhang, Product Manager of TE's Data and Terminal Devices business group, said: "High-speed data communication applications such as servers, switches and storage devices often require robust design of high-power products. Due to its limited design space and high power density requirements, board-to-board and board-to-busbar connections for such applications are usually not possible through ordinary cable assembly solutions. "With TE's innovative design and advanced technology, TE high-current power connectors address the high-speed data transmission needs of high-power applications."
