TE Connectivity introduces new double-wall heat shrink bushing

     TE Connectivity, a global leader in connectivity and sensors, introduces BATTU heat shrink tubing. The product has a double wall flame retardant design and is suitable for battery or cord to terminal applications in industrial and commercial vehicles, construction equipment and generator sets. BATTU Heat shrink bushings are made of flame retardant polyolefin bushings with thermoplastic hot melt adhesives that provide superior performance in harsh environments with a bushings shrink ratio of approximately 2:1 and are customized for cable to terminal applications for fast application and reduced application costs.

     "For harness manufacturers and equipment manufacturers, we need to reduce the application cost of heat shrink tubing for cable to battery cable or other power cable terminal interfaces and ensure reliable protection in harsh environments." And provides excellent electrical isolation, mechanical protection, flame and moisture resistance."

     The TE BATTU heat shrink tubing product line includes three sizes from 12.7mm to 25.4mm (inner diameter before shrinkage) for typical cable sizes from 16mm2 to 120 mm2 [6 AWG to 4/0 AWG]. TE customised relatively short pre-cut tubes (32mm to 102mm), as well as 1.22m long tubes, for the specific lengths required for pipe sizing and expected application requirements.

     BATTU Heat shrink tubing has a full shrinkage temperature of 135°C, is capable of operating at temperatures from -40°C to 130°C, meets the flame retardant requirements of IS06722, and is UL certified (file number E85381). The product has a rated voltage of 600V and a minimum dielectric strength of 19,700V /mm.

     BATTU heat shrinkable casing sheath protects against corrosion and bending and is resistant to General Motors fluids. Its thermoplastic inner layer can adhere to a variety of substrate surfaces, including plastic, metal and rubber, and insulate water vapor. To help provide easy identification coding, BATTU heat shrink tubing is available in four standard colors: black, red, yellow, and orange. The heat shrink tubing can be installed using a variety of different types of heating tools: from basic heat guns to belt-equipped heating furnaces for high-volume production environments.

     In addition to BATTU heat shrink tubing, TE offers a wide range of heat shrink tubing products to meet a variety of commercial and industrial applications.
