TE expands heavy-duty connector products with a family of high-current solutions

     TE Connectivity, the global leader in connectivity and sensing, has further expanded its Heavy-Duty Connector (HDC) offering with a family of high-current solutions that can handle harsh outdoor environments, particularly for new energy, rail and power distribution applications.

     At the heart of this solution is TE's new family of RoHS High Current Module (HCM) plug-ins. Available in both 250A and 350A versions (with a maximum current of 250A/350A), the HDC can be selected from 1-4 contact positions, enabling a wide range of connectivity solutions to meet the specific needs of many different types of applications. These crimp connectors have excellent insulation properties, rated voltages up to 2000V, withstand voltages up to 12KV, and can be supplied with wire diameters of HCM250:35-70mm2 according to application requirements; HCM350:35-120mm2. Moreover, its insertion and removal cycles exceed 500 times.

     The HCM plug-in is protected by a new IP68 housing, which is made of aluminum alloy with a powder-coated surface and performs well in harsh outdoor environments. Its stainless steel screw locking function ensures connection reliability. In addition, the shell can be sprayed with salt for up to 500 hours, the structure is robust and durable, and the service life is very long.
