TE introduces new KILOVAC current sensing high voltage contactors

     TE Connectivity has introduced a new KILOVAC current sensing high voltage contactor: the KILOVAC KCS01, a compact power switching solution that integrates a current sensor with current trip capability. This contactor is ideal for demanding commercial electric vehicles, distribution, energy storage and battery systems.

     KILOVAC products have been used for more than 35 years to provide high-voltage switching functions required for aerospace and defense applications. KILOVAC contactors are highly specialized and suitable for a variety of important applications with high current systems. The KCS01 contactors feature a robust and lightweight design that further expands the capabilities of KILOVAC's contactor product line. This contactor is completely sealed and ensures reliable performance in harsh explosive and corrosive environments, even if not used for long periods of time.

     "TE's new KILOVAC Current Sensing High Voltage contactor (KCS01) weighs just 145g, making it one of the industry's smallest 100A contactors," said Earle Alldredge, product manager, TE's Global Aerospace, Defense & Marine business Unit. Its very small size and simple design make it very flexible in configuration, so it can be adapted to a wide variety of applications."

     The 100A/600VDC KCS01 contactor can be installed in most directions and has a bi-directional switching function to meet a variety of application requirements. Its integrated dual-coil electronic energy saver has internal coil suppression, no coil radiation and meets EMC standards.
