TE announced the introduction of MULTI-BEAM Plus connectors, the latest extension to its recognized line of power connectors. The MULTI-BEAM Plus connector uses the same thin design as the power connectors of the preceding products, such as MULTI-BEAM XL, MULTI-BEAM XLE and MULTI-BEAM HD, and has the same ventilation performance.
The MULTI-BEAM Plus connector can carry up to 140A per power terminal and up to 100A per terminal in each of the four adjacent power terminals, meeting the market demand for high-power solutions. In addition, the MULTI-BEAM Plus connector's scalable, modular design improves configuration and PCB design flexibility.
The new MULTI-BEAM Plus power connector uses thickened materials and high density pins to support higher current transmission, and its separate power terminal design improves dimensional stability. MULTI-BEAM Plus connectors are suitable for data centers, telecommunications equipment, industrial automation equipment and power systems.
Tommy Yu, Product Manager of TE Connectivity's Data and Terminal Devices Business group, said: "The industry is in desperate need of higher current and higher performance products to support the new design, and the TE MULTI-BEAM Plus connector is ready with a power terminal that can support the highest current transmission. The TE rectangular power connector family has been widely recognized by the industry, and the MULTI-BEAM Plus connector will continue this trend."
