TE's new Nano RF module and contact density is twice that of the VITA 67 RF module

     TE Connectivity, a global technology leader in connectivity and sensing, introduces new NanoRF modules and contacts that are twice as dense as current VITA 67 RF modules for VPX embedded computing applications. It is a high-frequency miniature coaxial cable contact that provides smaller contacts and higher RF contact density via a multi-position module. This design allows for a smaller package, saving valuable space. Half-size modules support up to 12 RF contacts, full-size modules support 18 or more contacts, and the number and location of contacts can be customized.

     TE's NanoRF modules and contacts are also versatile. Its floating mount backplane contacts can be inserted blind, supporting module to module or box to box architecture. In addition, although they are designed for 0.047-inch coaxial cables, they can also be used with many other types of cables to meet application requirements. To bring high-frequency functionality into a high-density modular package, we have also optimized the contacts for signal integrity and support frequencies up to 70GHz.

     The NanoRF has a floating plug on the backplane side that guides the contact array to pre-align before the contacts are engaged. This enables reliable plugging and consistent RF performance up to 500 times.
