TRINAMIC's TMC5160 is a high-power stepper motor controller and driver IC with serial communication interface. It combines a flexible ramp generator for automatic target positioning with an advanced stepper motor driver. Using external transistors, high dynamic, high torque drivers can be achieved.

Based on Trinamic's advanced SpreadCycle and StealthChop cutters, the drive ensures absolute noise-free operation while delivering maximum efficiency and optimum motor torque. High integration, high energy efficiency, and small dimensions make system miniaturization and scalability a cost effective solution. The complete solution minimizes the learning curve while performing optimally in the classroom. The TMC5160-WA uses wettable side packs that allow optical inspection of welded joints.
