TT Electronics introduces smaller potentiometers and encoders for industrial applications

     TT Electronics has announced the addition of three new product lines and three extended product lines to its range of variable resistors. These additions include a new encoder family and two new single-turn potentiometer families, as well as extensions to three existing potentiometer families. These new products are ideal for harsh industrial environments, such as welding equipment and machine tool control, as well as a variety of professional audio applications, including electric guitars, amplifiers and mixers.

     The EN05 series micro rotary encoder is an innovative solution for the precise control of small portable devices. The EN05 rotary encoder has a long service life (at least 100,000 cycles) with a package width of 5.8 mm. The compact size and hollow shaft design of the encoder make it ideal for applications where space is limited but precise functional control is required, such as computer accessories and electronic devices.

     The new P166 and P265 series of rotary potentiometers are available in a wide range of resistance values from 500Ω to 1MΩ and are designed to meet the requirements of modern wave soldering processes. These products are available with a variety of taps, shafts, bushings, multi-linkage, multi-output and switches. The P265 series includes a moisture-resistant internal shaft seal and meets PCB cleaning requirements and MIL-R-94 standards when required. Demonstration applications for P166 products include amplifiers, mixers, synthesizers, home appliances, audio/car radios, and industrial controls; Application cases for P265 products include audiovisual equipment, test and measurement equipment, walkie-talkies, portable radios, and laboratory equipment.

     Upgrades to the existing P09x and P260 series potentiometers make the product options in each series more clear. The P09x series is now available in concentric (P09xC) and center tap (P09xT) products for audio equipment, amplifiers, mixers, television and multimedia sound systems, headsets and portable radios. The P260 series is available in P260L products with standard leads and P260R products with standard length flat cables. The P270 series includes the P279 product, which has a high-load bushing type and seven new electrical angles, making it ideal for machine tool control, welding equipment and pedal control.
