Teledyne launches a new generation of AI smart cameras for industrial automation and inspection

     Teledyne DALSA, a company of Teledyne Technologies and a global leader in machine vision technology, has announced the launch of a new generation of BOA™3 artificial intelligence smart cameras for industrial automation and inspection. The new BOA3 smart camera is designed to take the best features of previous generations of BOA and combine them with new sensors and AI (artificial intelligence) detection technology developed by Teledyne. BOA3 is a highly integrated vision system in a compact, robust smart camera format designed to meet the needs of the most complex and demanding machine vision applications.

     The BOA3 offers 1.2 megapixel to 12 megapixel sensor resolutions, integrated or C-bayonet lens options, onboard I/O, and easy-to-use machine vision software, all in one common platform. The BOA3 smart camera is flexible and full of features to enable fast and cost-effective embedded machine vision deployments.

     BOA3 comes with iNspect™, an easy-to-use code-free inspection development software with tools for positioning, part positioning, pattern matching, measurement, barcode reading, feature or defect detection, including automatic character reading (OCR) based on a pre-trained AI inference network. Combine a wide range of traditional vision tools with powerful AI classification or object detection models created in Teledyne DALSA's GUI-based AI trainer software Astrocyte™.
