Texas Instruments LMQ664x0/LMQ664x0-Q1 step-down converter

Texas Instruments LMQ664x0/LMQ664x0-Q1 Synchronous step-down DC/DC converter is a 36V, 3A (available in 2A and 1A models) synchronous step-down DC/DC converter with built-in integrated bypass and bootstrap capacitors. These devices are packaged in enhanced HotRod™ QFN. The converter is simple to use and supports a wide input voltage range from 2.7V to 36V (after startup or operation), with transient voltages up to 42V.

The LMQ664x0 is designed to meet the low standby power requirements of normally open industrial applications. Automatic mode enables frequency return-back at light load, 1.5µA no load current consumption at 13.5VIN and high light load efficiency. Seamless conversion between PWM and PFM modes and very low MOSFET on-resistance enable excellent efficiency across the load range. The control architecture (peak current mode) and feature set are optimized for an ultra-small solution size with minimum output capacitance.

Texas Instruments LMQ664x0 has a wealth of features designed to simplify the implementation of a wide variety of industrial terminal equipment. Double random spread spectrum (DRSS), low EMI enhanced HotRod QFN packaging and optimized pin allocation are used to minimize the input filter size. MODE/SYNC and RT pin models can be used to set or synchronize frequencies to avoid noise sensitive bands. The key high voltage pins have NCS between them to reduce potential failure (best pin FMEA).
