Texas Instruments TLVM13640 4A step-down power module

     The Texas Instruments TLVM13640 4A Synchronous Step-down Power module is a highly integrated 36V, 4A DC/DC solution that integrates multiple power MOSFETs, a shielded inductor, and multiple passive devices in an enhanced HotRod QFN package. The VIN and VOUT pins of the module are located at the corners of the package to optimize the placement of input and output capacitors in the layout. The module has four large cooling pads below, which can achieve simple layout and easy handling in the manufacturing process.

     The Texas Instruments TLVM13640 features output voltages from 1V to 6V and is designed to quickly and easily achieve low EMI designs for small size PCBS. The overall solution requires only four external components and eliminates the selection of magnetic and compensating components in the design process.

     Although designed for small size and simplicity in space-constrained applications, the TLVM13640 module has many features to achieve robust performance. These features include precision enablement (with hysteresis) for adjustable input voltage UVLO, resistance programmable switching node conversion for improved EMI, integrated VCC, bootstrap-up, and input capacitors for improved reliability and density. These devices also feature a constant switching frequency, negative output voltage capability throughout the load current range, and PGOOD indicators for sequencing, fail-safe, and output voltage monitoring.
