The Texas Instruments TPS6104x-Q1 High frequency boost converter is ideal for automotive applications with output voltages up to 28V. The TPS6104x-Q1 works with a pre-adjusted low-voltage rail, dual nickel-metal Hydride/nickel-cadmium or single lithium-ion battery, and supports an input voltage of 1.8V to 6V.
The TPS6104x-Q1 converter generates switching frequencies up to 1MHz and supports the use of small external components such as ceramic and tantalum output capacitors. The TPS6104x-Q1 device comes in a space-saving 5-pin SOT-23 package, achieving a smaller overall solution size.
The TI TPS61040-Q1 converter has an internal 400mA switching current limit. In contrast, the TPS61041-Q1 converter has a 250mA switching current limit, providing lower output voltage ripple and smaller form-factor inductors for low-power applications.
TPS6104x-Q1 device adopts pulse frequency modulation (PFM) scheme and has constant peak current control function. The combination of a low static current (typically 28µA) and an optimized control scheme helps the device operate efficiently over the entire load current range.
