     Texas Instruments TPS629203/TPS629203-Q1 Low IQ step-down converter is an efficient, small, flexible synchronous step-down DC-DC converter that is easy to use. The wide input voltage range of 3V to 17V supports a variety of systems powered by 12V, 5V, or 3.3V power rails, and single or multiple lithium-ion batteries.

     The TPS629203/TPS629203-Q1 can be configured to operate at either 2.5MHz or 1MHz in forced PWM mode or Variable frequency (automatic PFM) mode. In automatic PFM mode, the device automatically switches to power-saving mode during light load to maintain high efficiency. In addition, the low typical static current of 4μA is used to achieve high efficiency with minimal load.

     TI's Automatic Efficiency Enhancement (AEE) mode automatically adjusts the switching frequency based on input and output voltages, thereby maintaining high conversion efficiency across the operating range without the need for different inductors. In addition to selecting the switching frequency behavior, the MODE/S-CONF input pin can be used to choose between different combinations of external and internal feedback voltage dividers and enabling and disabling the output voltage discharge function.

     In the internal feedback configuration, the resistor between the FB/VSET pin and GND can be used to choose between 18 different output voltage options. The Texas Instruments TPS629203-Q1 device meets AEC-Q100 certification for automotive applications.
