Texas Instruments TPS92643-Q1 Step-down infrared LED driver

     The Texas Instruments TPS92643-Q1 step-down infrared LED driver features a wide operating input voltage range of 5.5V to 36V and a 40V tolerance for 400ms load drops. Adaptive on-time mean current mode control based on inductor valley current detection is implemented in TPS92643-Q1. The adaptive on-off time control provides a nearly constant switching frequency that can be set between 100kHz and 2.2MHz. The closed-loop feedback function and inductor current induction can achieve accuracy of + + 4% over a wide range of input, output and ambient temperature.

     High performance LED drivers can use PWM dimming or analog technology to individually modulate LED current. By setting the IADJ voltage, a linear analog dimming range exceeding 15:1 can be obtained. The PWM dimming of LED current can be realized by directly modulating the corresponding UDIM input pin with the required duty cycle. This feature also enables internal analog-to-PWM conversion by setting the analog voltage on the APWM. The internal PWM generator converts by comparing the external analog voltage to the internal 1.4kHz ramp signal.

     Texas Instruments TPS92643-Q1 includes advanced diagnostic and fail-safe features: cycle switching current limit, bootstrapping undervoltage, LED open circuit, LED short circuit, and heat off. The TPS92643-Q1 comes in a 6.6mm × 5.1mm heat-enhanced 16-pin HTSSOP package with a lead spacing of 0.65mm.
