Texas Instruments TPSM63604 Synchronous step-down power module

     Texas Instruments TPSM63604 Synchronous Step-down Power Module is a highly integrated 36V, 4A DC/DC solution that integrates multiple power MOSFETs, a shielded inductor, and multiple passive devices in an enhanced HotRod™ QFN package. The VIN and VOUT pins of the module are located at the corners of the package to optimize the placement of input and output capacitors in the layout. The module has four large cooling pads below, which can achieve simple layout and easy handling in the manufacturing process.

     Texas Instruments TPSM63604 has output voltages from 1V to 16V and is designed to quickly and easily achieve low EMI designs for small size PCBS. The overall solution requires only four external components and eliminates the selection of magnetic and compensating components in the design process.

     Although designed for small size and simplicity in space-constrained applications, the TPSM63604 module offers a number of features to achieve robust performance: Precision enablement with adjustable input voltage UVLO lag, resistance programmable switching node flutter rate and spread spectrum options to improve EMI, integration of VCC, lift and input capacitors to improve reliability and density, constant switching frequency across the full load current range, and PGOOD indicators for timing, fail-safe and output voltage monitoring.
