The LM5013-Q1 asynchronous step-down converter of Texas Instruments is designed for adjustment in a wide input voltage range, which can minimize the demand for external surge suppression components. The minimum controllable turn-on time of 50 ns is helpful to achieve a large step-down conversion ratio, and can realize direct step-down from 48 V nominal input to low voltage rail, thus reducing system complexity and solution cost

     Texas Instruments' LM5013-Q1 asynchronous step-down converter is designed to be tuned over a wide input voltage range, minimizing the need for external surge suppression components. A minimum controllable on-off time of 50 ns helps to achieve a large step-down conversion ratio, enabling direct step-down from 48 V nominal input to the low rail, thereby reducing system complexity and solution cost.

 

     If desired, the LM5013-Q1 operates at nearly 100% duty cycle during input voltage dips as low as 6V, making it an excellent choice for high-performance 48V battery automotive applications and MHEV/EV systems.

 

     The LM5013-Q1 features an integrated high voltage side power MOSFETs that deliver up to 3.5A output current. Constant-on-time (COT) control architecture provides nearly constant switching frequency with excellent load and line transient response. The converter features ultra-low IQ operation to achieve high light load efficiency, innovative peak overcurrent protection, integrated VCC bias power supply and bootup diode, precision enablement and input UVLO, and thermal off protection with automatic recovery.

 

     Leak-open PGOOD indicator provides sequencing, fault reporting, and output voltage monitoring. The LM5013-Q1 is compliant with Automotive AEC-Q100 Class 1 standard and comes in an 8-pin SO PowerPAD™ package. The 1.27mm pin spacing provides adequate spacing for high pressure applications.
