TI expands its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) portfolio to further help automakers develop more advanced panoramic vision systems for primary and mid-range vehicles. The TDA2Eco processor, the newest member of TI's automotive System-on-chip (SoC) family, is developed on the same heterogeneous, scalable architecture as other TDA devices to provide automakers with the optimal combination of high performance, low power and ADAS vision analytics

Texas Instruments announced the expansion of its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) portfolio to further help automakers develop more advanced panoramic vision systems for primary and mid-level vehicles. The TDA2Eco processor, the newest member of TI's automotive System-on-chip (SoC) family, is developed on the same heterogeneous, scalable architecture as other TDA devices to provide automakers with the optimal combination of high performance, low power and ADAS vision analytics.

 

Optimized solution for panoramic view

The TDA2Eco has been developed for 3D panoramic viewing applications to easily replace the TDA2 devices used in primary and mid-level panoramic viewing solutions, thereby reducing power consumption, optimizing performance and bill of materials (BOM). In addition, the processor family also integrates a large number of peripherals, including CAN, Gigabit Ethernet AVB and display module interfaces. With parallel, serial and CSI-2 interfaces, the TDA2Eco SOC can support up to eight cameras and is compatible with TI's FPD-Link III serialist, providing a complete solution for panoramic viewing systems. The TDA2Eco SoC also comes with third-party partner support for security and production software. TI's optimized BOM includes components such as the TPS65917-Q1 Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) and the LM53603-Q1 DC/DC converter.

 

The TDA series continues to plan automotive investments

TI's new TDA2Eco system-on-chip (SoC) is built on a heterogeneous, scalable architecture. This architecture incorporates TI's fixed-point and floating-point TMS320C66x digital signal processor (DSP) cores, ARM® Cortex-A15 MPCore, and Quad-Cortex-M4 processors, enabling the development of panoramic view applications for more types of vehicles at a lower cost. With Ethernet AVB networks and Automotive black Box (CarBB) support, video accelerators for multi-video stream codec and graphics accelerators for virtual view rendering enable 3D visual experiences.
