Texas Instruments low drop differential (LDO) linear voltage regulator

The Texas Instruments TPS748A Low Drop Difference (LDO) linear voltage regulator provides an easy-to-use, powerful power management solution for a variety of applications. User programmable soft start minimizes the pressure on the input power supply by reducing the capacitive inrush during startup. Soft boot is monotonous and designed to power many different types of processors and application-specific integrated circuits (ASics).

Enabling good input and power output allows for easy sorting with external regulators. This total flexibility enables the solution to meet the sequencing requirements of field programmable gate arrays (FPgas), digital signal processors (DSPS), and other applications with special boot requirements.

An accurate reference and error amplifier provides 0.85% accuracy for load, line, temperature and process. The device is stable with any capacitor greater than or equal to 10 μF. It is also fully specified for T(J) = -40°C to +125°C. The Texas Instruments TPS748A comes in a small, 3mm by 3mm, VSON-10 package with a highly compact total solution size.
